Even her daughter feels ashamed of her and does not introduces her mother to her friends.
Being so much underestimated, Shashi goes to New York to help her neice in her wedding and also takes English speaking course there and soon becomes the best student of her coaching centre.

Sri Devi proved once again that she is still the queen of Bollywood. She has done an excellent work even after being away from bollywood for the last 15 years.
English Vinglish is an inspiration for those who are weak at reading/ writing skills or speaking English. English Vinglish deserves maximum respect. Must go and watch it.
